Vandal Esports is built around students first. Players represent the University of Idaho in competition, broadcasts, events, camps, and student leadership roles, and the program expects academic responsibility to come before match results.
Eligibility Support
Staff can help students understand program expectations, league eligibility requirements, and the steps needed to remain available for competition.
Check-Ins
Academic check-ins give staff and students a regular way to catch concerns early and connect players with support before issues grow.
Campus Resources
Students may be referred to advising, tutoring, accessibility services, counseling, and other University of Idaho resources when needed.
What Players Should Do
Keep a weekly schedule, communicate with captains and staff, plan around exams, and ask for help early. Esports should fit around academic progress, not compete against it.
What Families Can Expect
The program encourages accountability, communication, and student ownership. Staff can point students toward campus resources, but students remain responsible for their academic work.
