Welcome Vandals and fellow readers to a special time of the season!! This week because of the media team’s hard work, we highlight our various teams in “Media Week!”

Tuesday, January 21st

The day kicked off with the Valorant, Street Fighter 6, and Rainbow 6 Siege teams participating in photoshoots and their first seasonal all-players meeting. All three teams had a blast bonding with one another as they struck stylish poses for memorable league photos. Afterward, the three Valorant teams and Rainbow 6 Siege teams held scrimmages to prepare for their upcoming league matches. Valorant JV1 and JV2 faced off in internal games, with JV1 narrowly winning 2-1. Valorant Varsity competed against Alpha 7, losing their first game but tying the second. Similarly, the R6 teams played casual games among themselves, enjoying the experience.

Day two of Media Week featured the Rocket League, Counter-Strike, and Fortnite teams, who attended photoshoots and participated in the seasonal all-players meeting. The teams learned about what it means to be a Vandal Esports athlete while enjoying their photoshoots together. After their photo sessions, Rocket League Varsity played a fun scrimmage match against Rigby High School. Despite a dominant 5-0 victory, both teams had a fantastic time playing and learning from each other.

Thursday, January 23rd

Day three welcomed the Overwatch and Hearthstone teams for their photoshoots and participation in the all-players meeting. Following the photo sessions, both teams returned to their respective practice labs. Overwatch and Hearthstone ran casual games and continued preparing for their upcoming matches.

Friday, January 24th

The final day of the school week concluded with League of Legends (LoL), FIFA 25, and Tekken 8 teams attending photoshoots and the all-players meeting. After their photoshoots, the League of Legends JV team faced off against Boise State University Varsity in a scrimmage, unfortunately ending in a 0-2 loss. Meanwhile, the League of Legends Varsity team ran regular practice matches against themselves.
